In mythology, there is a recurring theme of people running to the ocean to beg for Poseidon’s aid. Sometimes, he helps, inviting the souls into his waves (often even seducing them), and other times, he denies them, drowning them instead. It seems so fitting for something as expansive and awe-inspiring as the god of the ocean.
The Changing Tides Charm represents the dichotomous god of the ocean—at once calm and inviting, and then the tides change, and tumultuous waves and harsh currents rush in.
This double-sided tactile charm features three different textures and two finishes. The Calm Seas side is soft, high polish, and, as its name implies, is inspired by serene, inviting waters. It is just so touchable. This charm came from want of a worry talisman, something you can mindlessly rub your thumb over to feel calm. The Rough Seas side combines the signature gold ridges and knife edge details you’ve come to know and love in Psyche pieces. It’s hand-finished with a brushed matte texture and symbolizes the powerful crashing waves of the sea during a storm.
